Well our heating system collapsed before Christmas - was oil - so decided to go gas this time. Our whole system had to be replaced including piping. Anyway got a contracter in to do the work and had asked them about the grant scheme but they more or less said I had to get it done myself. They are still installing the system.

Anyway was just on to sustainable energy Ireland and was told that no work should have been carried out as I had to get approval first.

Does anyone know if I can get anything at all out of this at this stage. Was a bit disappointed that I wasn't told all this before I got the work carried out.

No. Its as they said. You apply BEFORE. Furthermore, the contractor that you used may not be registered with SEI for the scheme.
