Hi, all.

Just a general query as to what the average employer contributions are to DC pensions in Ireland currently.

My plan is matched by contributions up to 8%

Surveys suggest average is just under 6%.
I've been in a few jobs with much higher, typically banks which previously had defined benefit pensions.

Some previously threads, but there are others:

The several multinational corporations that I worked for in my time never matched more than 5-6%. Maybe they're more generous these days?

Current employer pays max 8% if I pay 7%

Previous employer paid max 12% if I paid 6%

Both multinational tech companies

British financial services employer matched up to 10% for me. That was from 2005 to 2015.

Wife who works in a senior role for an Irish financial services company currently gets 15% Employer contribution. Generous I know.

Last few MNC jobs have been Employer DC contribution of 6%, which seems to be about the average, but my current MNC (tech co)is Employer DC contribution of 8%, where Employee pays at least 4%.

The Employer contribution of 8% applies to annual bonus as well, which i don’t believe is common.

That 15% is very rare ! and very generous.

Me 5, employer 10, work for Telco, DC scheme. Bonus (0-15%) not included
