Eco/natural burial

Has anyone planned a minimalist eco/natural burial for themselves or someone else?

Would be grateful for any advice on how to go about it.

You still need a coffin which is strong enough to hold 100 kilos as it gets moved around.

Would you want to body taken out of the coffin at graveside and then lifted in to the grave?

I see this has been legal since 2013.
 
It's not something that we've researched in detail, but we have discussed before as a couple.

These are 2 related companies. I'm not recommending either as I've no experience of them, but it should give a pointer as to what options are available.





I suspect that talking to a funeral director would be a good place to start.
 
I told my children that when I die they should have the doctors remove any bits of me that might be of use to anyone else and then send the rest to a dog food factory. If they were feeling extravagant then have the bits that are left hurled into the sea using a trebuchet.
Once you are dead you are just meat.
 
Pretty certain regulations on meat processing for animals would preclude the use of human remains.

Disposing of body parts into the sea is also likely to get them arrested.

I'm sure they had nightmares for months.

You're only 'meat' if you can be eaten, and I suspect you'd be full of tough gristle.
