Hi,Thinking of moving to carrick on shannon ,seems like a lively town ,agents brought us out to see new developments in drumshambo ( corryard woods/ acres cove) lovely houses ..... any info on drumshanbo would be greatly appreciated .
 
drum 1, Yes, Drumshanbo ( which can be spelled either with n,or m ) fantastic place, home to Irish trad music, lots going on there and CK-on-Shannon, and Leitrim town nearby. Nice housing estates being built at the moment. The Ramada Hotel, Moorlands riding stables, nice town and friendly people.
What are you looking for in a town? you will need a car, as there is no regular bus service, The bus runs to Dublin or Sligo from CK-on- Shannon, it's about one hours drive from Enniskillen. The town itself is small and has regular farmers markets there, (tuesday's and some saturday's) There is one supermarket, two banks, Library, several pubs, the famous Mayflower Ballroom, all in all a nice place. I forgot to mention Lough Allen and the beautiful scenery.:D

Yeah Drumshambo ain't bad, go north out the Dowra road and you will see some nice scenery. Drumshambo has
Broadband, 4 shops, 1 primaryschool, 1 vocational school, 1 outdoor swimming pool,an ATM, barbers, hardware shop, plenty of pubs.

There is a cattle/sheep mart on Tuesdays and sometimes Saturdays.

The Ramada Hotel has a nice Gym and indoor swimming pool, with an outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the lake.

Around Drumshambo and especially more northwards hasn't seen alot of development, but you are starting to see quite a few people buying now. Most of the area around the lake is classified as a High Visual Amenity Area and very difficult to get planning.

Drumshambo is aobut 40 minute drive from Enniskillen and Sligo. If you need to know anything lese just ask.
