Under the audit exemption is it okay to submit returns yourself without the aid of accountant for a dromant co?
I know it would be wise to do so but is it obligatory to get an accountant?

Not obligatory unless the company has lost audit exemption.

If you know what you are doing and are VERY careful to observe filing dates etc, you should be fine doing it yourself. On the other hand, if it is important that the formatting of the filed accounts complies with accounting standards (for example if the company will be tendering for contracts in the foreseeable future) then you may be better off getting professional assistance.

Download the booklet on Audit Exemption from www.cro.ie

About halfway through the booklet they have a sample you can use, but as previously mentioned, be careful with your dates.
