Laya Do we have the best plan for us?

Hi,
We have two adults on Laya Precision 450 Connect and two children on Laya Essential Connect Family, renewing soon.
We don't attend the GP that often but would like to have the best level of cover for hospital treatment in case we need any procedures in the future. We can't afford to up the premium very much at the moment but each time I ask if there's any better plans available, they never offer alternatives. But I know the health insurers have corporate plans as well so are they correct or is there a cheaper option for us or a similar priced plan that has better hospital coverage?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi Charley,

The only cheaper plan with Laya is similar to your current plan but it has a higher excess of 600 to pay if you are admitted to a private hospital.
Details as follows;
1. Precision 600 Connect; price 667pa; same hospital cover as before but with a higher excess 600 to pay for private hospital admissions.

The following 2 plans with Irish Life and VHI would have better private hospital cover but the only issue is the child price would be more expensive.
Details as follows;

2. VHI One Plan 500; price 715pa; all public and private hospitals covered, private hospital excess 500 x 2 max per year for all private hospital
admissions. Day case excess 150 per day case procedure. No excess to pay in any public hospital.

3. Irish Life Benefit 1 plan; price 732pa; selected list of public and private hospitals covered. You would need to check this list to see if they
suit your location. The private hospital list for Dublin is very good on this plan. Private excess capped at 500 x 2 max per year for all admissions.
Day case excess 150 per procedure.

There is the option for one person to switch to a different company if you want for better cover while one adult stays with Laya to avail of the
child offer.
