Do plastic kettles make water taste bad?

Anyone think stainless steel kettles are better for this reason? I've definitely gotten a bad taste from plastic kettles in the past.

I changed from a stainless steel kettle to a plastic one recently and haven't noticed any difference at all. I would have thought that modern plastics would be immune to that sort of problem, but I may stand corrected!!

Agree with you Toby, definitely a taste but can't seem to get any more than a year out of any kettle

As Sue Ellen implies, it may just be that you are in a hard water area; if this is the case you won't have much joy whatever sort of kettle you have.

fill a scaled kettle with coke and leave to sit fo a few days, wash out..good as new
