Do long term tenants of B&B have rights?

father owns a B&B some tenants there more than 10 years paying rent, i was told if he sells the house he will have to buy them an apartment each in the same area.

is this true and is there a way out of it?

No , he does not have to buy them apartments....

If he lives in the house, then they are classified as paying guests and are not covered by the tenancy laws. Think they only need a few hours notice to leave. Contact Threshold.

I'd agree. B&B is theoretically day to day accommodation. There is no lease etc. The length of time the guests stay is irrelevant.
