if i were you i would go the whole hog and go to orlando, this yr might be exp but if you hold off till august you should be able to get the flights for next yr fairly reasonably, through expedia or cheap tickets, we got ours for €1100 2 adults 2 kids 12 and 4, either rent a villa in kissimeee (around €1100 for 2 weeks for 4 bed with private pool)or stay at floridays on Idrive for £400 pw for 2 bed apt loads of facilities.

It's difficult to advise without knowing how much you want to spend, how long you want to go for, what ages your children are, when you want to go and whether you solely want to go to Disney or have big holiday.

If Disneyland is your main focus and you're thinking a short break then Paris would be ideal. They have great deals on at the moment.

With any of the big parks the top tip I would give you is to avoid the weekends if possible, the queues are at least twice as long as midweek.

If you're thinking a longer holiday and the kids would be ok on a longer flight then Florida or California would have plenty of options.

I haven't been to the one in Florida but have been to Paris, California and Hong Kong and the only one I'd say to skip is HK!

dont forget that alot of the rides have height restrictions so if your children are young there will be alot of attractions that they may be too young to go on.
lived near disney california for a while but the kids were too small to for alot of it.

Thoroughly enjoyed Orlando. Prices excellent. Hotels v. good value. Also see Epcot for the adults. Had a wonderful time every convenience and the queues dont feel like queues at all they are so well organised and something to do all the way.
Enjoy browtal

We've done Paris and Orlando (but not Disneyland in California) and I don't think they are similar enough to be in an either/or question. DLP is fine for a few days whereas for Orlando you would need a couple of weeks to do it justice. There is so much more to do in Orlando - Disney alone has 4 main theme parks plus 2 water parks plus other entertainment sites - and then there's Seaworld, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens...

We went to DLP quite a few times and each time I swore we would never go back because the staff were just rude and unhelpful and it is so commercialised - but each time the lure of a relatively cheap few days plus the kids getting older and taller and able to go on more rides brought us back. We went to Orlando a few years ago and haven't been back to DLP since...

If you are going to Orlando, this year, Continental had quite good fares fairly recently but Delta are also worth looking at. There are loads of websites with owners renting out their villas - we have used orlandovillas.com with no problems.

If going to DLP, the Sequoia Lodge hotel has a great indoor pool with a waterslide.

Whichever you decide on - your kids will love either place which I suppose is the most important thing.

I'd echo the recommendation for Orlando over Paris. If you get tired of the Disney experience there is so much more to experience in the area, as mentioned above.
I find also that in the US there is less of a feeling of being ripped off mainly due to the attitude of service providers. Sure it can seem over the top at times to us ("Hi I'm Mandy and I'll be your server today"), but I'd choose enthusiasm over surliness anyday.
Downsides I think would be the distance to travel (for the children), and probably higher cost for a longer stay to make it worthwhile.
Disney California (Anaheim in Los Angeles) is good too, but longer flight than Orlando and I think Orlando is more family orientated.
I can't imagine anyone travelling to Hong Kong just for the Disney experience.

Anaheim is about an hour South of LA, depending on traffic, Orange County Airport is the best one for Disneyland.

I mentioned Hong Kong not as a suggestion to go there for Disney (never, it's about half a day's worth of fun - but it's the cheapest Disney I know of, in there and merchandise) more as a reminder that there are other Disney parks out there.
