It is the same scheme as the last one and it has been agreed with ICTU for any public service rdundancies going forward. It will be targetted therefore I understand it is not open for anyone to apply. They will use it for areas where they are restructuring or getting rid of services. At this stage it is unclear how it will work or if it will work as I doubt if there is any manager int he system who is willing to put their hand up and say they have staff who are surplus to requirements.
