Defintion of "partner"?

hi there,

Just wondering is there a defintion of partner or common law spouse for the purpose of motor insurance. Do you have to be living together for so long or what are the conditions? Thinking of adding my boyf on my car insurance policy & just wondering does he qualify as partner. thanks in advance

I querued this the last time i re-insured and I was told there wasnt any particular t&c's on this, certainly cant remember being asked how long we were living together or anything....probably better to check with your particular company/policy.

Same with us. Depends on the company, but they didn't ask how long we were living together. Cant remember who we were insured with at the time.

I work in insurance and a general rule of thumb is he is your partner/common law spouse if you live together. if you don't live with him he's your boyfriend.
