Debt Consolidation

I need to borrow to consolidate debt. Its in the region of 40K - 50K and I want to do it over longer than the standard 5 years offered by most institutions. Any idea how to go about this type of loan?
 
there is the option of getting a top-up mortgage on your property, but if you are going to do this then you really need to examine why you got into such debt in the first place.

Is there an alternative to topping up a mortgage tho.... Banks only offer up to 35,000 over 5 years.
