Deals on Tracker?

Hi all,

We are in the lucky position of being able to pay off our tracker early. We have 11 years to run on the mortgage with AIB paying ECB +0.6%. For peace of mind we've decided to pay it off and probably top up pensions going forward.

Has anyone had any luck getting a discount when paying off early with AIB?

No. No lender is giving discounts for early repayments of trackers.

All the banks have excess cash. If you repay your mortgage, they don't have anyone else to lend it to.

Income from your mortgage = 0.6%
AIB PROFIT = 0.6%


Best chance of getting a discount - a decade ago.

Chance of a discount now 0.0% I'm afraid.
