Hi all, at the early stages of house extension planning and doing a little research on kitchens. Anyone have any experience on Hayburn Kitchens and their costs?

Thanks!

I am a kitchen designer and know that hayburn kitchens are an expensive type of kitchen....nice but expensive.

Many thanks for your reply. What other companies would do styles similar to Hayburn do you know? And when you say expensive.. could you give me a guide?

I used Christoff last year very good on product and service they have a website so worth a look They set up our kitchen in their showrooms before delivery so we could see it in the flesh and make any changes we wanted we found that very good

When i say expensive approx 20-30k for a standard enough kitchen! There are loads of kitchen companies that will be able to do the same type of kitchen if you tell them the style and probably won't end up costing as much!

those kitchens are called "solid frame" or "inframe" kitchens.the doors are usually thicker than normal doors(normal is 22mm,these should be about 30mm thick).the doors are hung on a frame around the door with visible butt hinges, but can be done with normal concealed hinges.some of these kitchens are made entirely out of solid timber or a combined solid timber and plywood, with dovetails drawers .to keep the price down they can be done with standard interiors,ie melamine chipboard or mdf but still solid doors.alot of kitchen companies in ireland do these kitchens but check around as its a specialist job and some can be poorly done.

Agree totally samm...alot of companies buy in these types of kitchens instead of making them and the bought in ones can be of a lesser quality than the hand made! MDF is the better interior over chipboard, as most chipboard carcasses have a wall board back and this is generally pinned in and can detatch from the sides. The MDF carcasses generally have an 18mm back which is more steady. Also the drawers can be done either timber without the dovetails or steel which will decrease the overall costings.
