Contracting in Germany

I just received an offer for a six month contract in Germany via an English agency. I am trying to figure out where I have to pay my tax. I am domiciled here in Ireland, the English agency tells me I have to pay tax on my full income in Germany. My accountant if off till tomorrow and they are pressing me for an answer. Any insight is appreciated!
 
While you are working in Germany you will be liable to tax in Germany.

If you remain resident in Ireland (as I assume you will, if you return after 6 months), you will be taxable in Ireland on this income, but will receive a credit under the Double Taxation Agreement for any tax paid in Germany.
