Like most IT contractors, I am going through an agency for my current role. I also have a limited company set up to deal with my pay. The agency take God knows what size of a cut off my daily rate before I get it. Of course, I'd like to avoid this in the future and contract directly for the client, thus keeping the extra dosh for myself.
My questions are:
1) Do I have to do anything different in order to contract directly e.g. legal agreement, insurance, etc.?
2) Apart from calling up HR at every software house in Dublin, is there any other way to find out if a company has a need to hire a contractor?
3) Any idea what these agencies tipically charge a day e.g. 20% of my rate, 50%?
