Hi,

I have been working on contract being paid through an umbrella company and I have been paying the correct PRSI stamps to be entitled to Unemployment benefit.

My contract is coming to an end in a couple of weeks and is not going to be renewed. As I have not other work lined up it looks as though I'm going to have to sign on for a while. I have read the key post , but as I am not being made redundant I wont have a P45. If I have a copy of my contract which shows my end date is that ok..or what else should i bring considering my work situation.

any info appreciated.
Thanks

Why won't you be getting a P45 if your employment is finishing? if you are paying Class A contribution then you should get a P45. Whatever, sing on the first day of unemployemtn and bring the document you ahve, as well as the otheres specified in the keypost. You don;t need to have P45 when signing on first.
