I was reading and came across an article bout the dangers of the condensate trap evaporating when the boiler temp exceeds the due point of the fuel being burnt ( no condensate been produced) and running for long periods at the standard differential of 11*c, have never come across this issue b4 only the odd melted trap cause from not being fully tightened to boiler flange.

surely the manufacturers have taken this issue into there product design, insofar that it would be possible that a 26kw boiler would be installed into a house with a heat requirement of 10 - 15 kw and the boiler will only produce condensate in the initial heat up period.!!

have seen it, a dry trap on oil, never seen it on gas, I won't mention which particular boiler, but was running when i arrived and had flue gas exiting from the condensate pipe..OH!
