Company being wound up but still owes people money

I am owed a small amount of money by a company for a year or so. I have been chasing them for it. I see that they are now strike off listed in Iris Offiguil which I think means they will cease to exist in 30 days time. I asked the CRO and they tell me they have filed no accounts for years.

Surely this is wrong and can I do something to get my money? I have been warned not to bother trying now.

If you don't have security, don;t bother trying to get it back if it is only a samll amount. By the time that the state and secured creditors are paid off (if at all) it is highly unlikely that there will be anything left for unsecured creditors.
