I am a committee member of a voluntary, not-for-profit group. We provide a mix of training seminars and social events for our members. A recent review of our activities threw up the question of insurance cover for committee members in the event of a claim against the organisation. Where we use or hire third party facilities such as hotels or bouncy castles etc we look for proof of public liability cover etc. A discussion occurred at a committee meeting as to whether we should have some sort of cover for the committee members who are totally voluntary and unpaid, in the event that a claimant tried to also include the group in a claim against one of our suppliers or providers and thus left a volunteer personally exposed financially.
Does anyone know of any cover of the type I am trying to outline ?
