Co.Council buying house stock?

Hi All,
Just wondering if co.councils are buying back ex corporation houseS at present?I know they have little money but someone said they were purchasing stock at present because they are cheap to provide housing to their clients.
Can anyone clarify for me as I have one such house that I wish to sell.

They are certainly leasing to rent to clients usually 5 year leases
