I have just sold a property in Poland and made the huge mistake of taking out a CHF mortgage in 2007 due to the low interest rates on offer at the time. I borrowed 186K PLN in Nov 2007 and I now owe 270K PLN.
I am now paying off the mortgage loan when the sale goes through at the end of this month and the Noble bank is offering a very bad FX rate to convert the remaining CHF loan to PLN. I want to buy CHF here (at a much better rate) and pay them the in CHF thus saving me approx. 6-8K EURO. They are resisting saying they will convert it and I should pay them in PLN.
Does anyone have experience of paying off a CHF mortgage to a Polish bank?
