Citroen Picasso Wipers Stay on with ignition off!

I have a 2001 1.6 Petrol Citroen Picasso and I can't disable the windshield wipers even with the ignition off and key out! The only way I can stop it to disable the earth lead from the battery.

I've tried replacing the windscreen wiper motor and stalk switch on the steering but its still the same, it just wont turn off.

Im at my wits end tyring to solve this problem. Anyone any ideas what to try next?

this is a software fault that every dealer should know about. it happens on berlingo's and picasso's and there is a reset procedure. been that long since i done one so i am not 100% but think this is the procedure.you remove steering cowls. look under comms and you will see a few plugs. remove the grey one. the wipers will go into back up mode and start working on normal speed. disconnect battery, replace grey plug. make sure wiper stalk is in off position and reconnect battery. turn wipers on and that should be it.
