There's really no such thing as a cheap flight to Australia in January. You'll be looking at around €1200 minimum. The later you leave it, the better though as prices gradually get cheaper the later you fly. The cheapest airlines usually turn out to be China Eastern or Korean Air so you might pick up a good deal on them.
With those airlines you'll probably have to go through a travel agent though.
