Changing Aerlingus Flight due to accident

HI I was wondering could anyone give me any advice on the following. My partner has been told he can not fly due to an accident but we want to rescedule the flights, and i was wondering does anyone know if he will have to pay the change fee if we have a letter from the doctor.

Any advice would be much apprieciated.
 
I think that'd be the way too. Insurance would cover it, but airlines dont have much of a sense of compassion.
