Hi,
First time poster. Thinking of changing career and one of the options I am considering is a tax consultant. Would appreciate any advice from anyone who has trained as a tax consultant and is working in this field. I am Cork based. I have only done my own research at this point. I am thinking of doing part one of the exams myself to see if the subject matter interests me. I will do this while still in my current role. I won't be telling my employer, so will fund it myself etc. For anyone who has done these exams would it be very hard to do this w/o working in the tax world. I have an honours business degree and would have achieved A grades in law module and B grades in accountancy and maths modules in my degree. If I did part one and decided I liked it and wanted to pursue it would I be a good candidate for a job? I work in the insurance industry at the moment. Have a senior/non management role which requires attention to detail, responsibility, working to deadlines etc.
Thanks in advance for any advice/direction.
