Hi, I was just womdering if 5000 euro's is expensive for getting oil central heating into a old 4 bed two storey detached house?. Should be strainght forward.

You may get cheaper if you shop around but the question is will the work standard be the same? if the guy that has quoted you has a good reputaion then go with him be careful of the cowboys now

sounds about right (persume it includes boiler and new cylinder)...

Its in north cork area. 9 rads, cylinder,burner and outside tank

I swithced from Oil to gas for €2200 so getting the same installed new with rads and everything... sounds OK.

Have you considered gas instead. Much cleaner than oil.

How do running costs / install compare.

I would guess the tank is dearer initially as they have to meet much higher safety standards. I would imagine it would leave it easier if mains gas ever came your direction though.
