Car parking paid by Visa

Since last january I have noticed that when I pay for parking at a certain car park with my visa card I am never actually charged for parking.

Is there a time limit for charging monies to credit cards in the same way that a cheque will go out of date. I'm a little worried that I will be hit with a large transaction on my credit card some day soon.

Perhaps there is someone out there that has had the same experience?

i got a charged for parking once about 3 months after the fact...

I think at this stage (I'm there everyday since Jan) I owe a sizeable sum. I rang visa and it seem that there is a 2 year limit on it. That's a lot longer than I thought it would be.
