Car hire in France?

Can anyone recommend cheap car hire in France, specifically Brittany?
I need to find the cheapest I can for 7 days mid-may for 2 adults and 3 small children.

Any tips/links greatly appreciated!

I always felt more secure by avoiding '...cheap car hire...'.
I always got a better deal on 'local' online sites than on .ie sites.
So if you were going for hertz look and price at Hertz.ie but also compare the same on Hertz.fr... (no connection with Hertz!)

After reading this I checked www.hertz.ie and www.hertz.es for a two week rental from Malaga Spain. For the exact same car, it cost €474 from the Irish site and €277 from the Spanish.

That is quite a difference.

Try www.lastminute.ie or www.skycars.com I usually try these first before into the site that is listed to compare prices. I have used www.citer.fr and found them to be good, they even replaced a car that was having problems, and it was 'just out of the box' brand spanking new.... Great.... Citroen C5.
