Can't get mortgage from Avant-told don't offer underwritten approvals

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone here has been told similar by their mortgage broker: I am applying for a mortgage through a mortgage broker in Dublin. I have received AIP with Bank of Ireland last week; I had stated my preference was to apply to Avant. When I queried this with the broker, she stated that Avant doesn't offer underwritten approvals and that when I am sale agreed,we can apply to Avant. It seems strange to me and also risky, my application could be rejected by Avant. I would be in a chain so things are already uncertain. Thanks for your feedback.

Do you mean approval in principle?

Are you sure that your broker is on the Avant list?

Why don't your register with Avant and apply directly?

Hi Brendan,

They are definitely on the list of brokers, I just doubled check there, just very strange. I thought going to a broker would make the mortgage application process smoother.

I'll apply directly as best course of action I guess
