VHI Cancelling VHI

Hey,

I had two policies with VHI paid for by my previous employer. I left and got a job elsewhere but they only offer health insurance through Laya. Is there anyway to not have to pay almost 400 quid to cancel the contract? I'm mid contract so I presume I'll be hit with the full cancellation fee, unfortunately the next renewal isn't until next September. Thanks.

Welcome to AAM.

I don't see any way to avoid this cancellation fee unfortunately. At the same time, it also means that you can switch to Laya through your employer
free scheme straight away. Note; if you have any hospital claims with VHI since September 2018, VHI will charge the full years premium in
that case. Just something to be aware of, which is the worse case scenario.

In order to clarify the position, you could check this out further with the Health Insurance Authority. They may be able to throw more light
