can my wife make a social welfare claim, while i'm insolvent

it's likely that i will be going insolvent in septermber as negotiations to remortgage (MARP) with my bank have failed

currently i'm earning to much for my wife to make a social walfare claim

would the fact the i will be insolvent make her more likely/almost certain to have a successfull claim with the socail welfare?
she does not have any assocaition with the debt

Will you still be earning after insolvency?

If so, your earnings will still be assessed against your wife.

Mortgage payments are not taken into account when carrying out means assessments.
