You have to laugh at this.
They lured everyone into a false sense of security when they offered their consolidation of electric and gas services for a discount only to announce a whopping increase of 14% on electricity and are pursuing the regulator for 30% on gas in October!

I'm switched my electricity from ESB to Electrical Ireland there a few months ago, was going to do it for the gas but didn't. I'm glad now as I would imagine that somewhere in that micro small print there is a clause that states; because you got the discount you must remain with them for x amount of time or pay x amount to disconnect or switch again.
No doubt Electrical Ireland will follow suite. I'm disconnecting the gas with immediate effect.
