Damaged the car on Sat --Dooh. I think its minor enough-a few hundred € but I could be in for a shock...
The damage is just above the side bumper. The metal is creased-about 8cm long -so it will require some beating/filling, and a paint touch up. Will get a quote from a main dealer, but most of these outsource to specialists-so they mark up. Anyone know where to go on the southside to get reasonable estimate, preferably one that does main dealer (BMW) work
If its mad money -I will go the insurance route.
Tks

Have you tried contacting Chipsaway? AFAIK they'll come to your house and repair on site.

thats a nasty place to get a dent. take some before / after photos and put them with the service history in case any future buyer asks about "the accident"

I will take a pic alright-just looked at a Carplan and they have a facility to put up a pic to get a quote. Will give chipsaway a shot-but I dont think this is something that can be repaired on my driveway-there will be paint and lacquer involved.
Xt40-When you say a nasty place-do you mean for repairing it?

Hi Luternau
I did the very same thing and can tell you now that you're unlikely to get a better price than mick the mechanic in cabinteely 012840475. Sound guy, got mine fixed for 500 euro, had anticipated over 2k

i meant nasty in the sense that its one of the few bits that cant be bolted off and replaced and will need to be filled and resprayed
