Better off married?

My partner was made reduntant last year, so was claiming Jsb but that ran out. Now he is on Jsa and is only entilted to 100 a week. I would full time and we've two young kids.

We cant claim for
Tax for kids - Because we bought the house together & live together
Help with our mortgage
FIS - Maybe 20euro a week

Im not on the best wage, bearly making it.

So my question is are we better off married, as social welfare see us as cohabiting as we bought the house together.

Would I be better off claiming my partners tax credits since he is out of work.

If married tax credits can be allocated between spouses and this doen't seem to be the case with cohabiting couples
