best sterling to euro rates

Over the next 4/5 months we will be receiving several sterling cheques from 15k to 35k we are with 1 of the big 3 banks but we are not always happy with the conversion rates what other options do we have. thanks
 
If you have a good idea of the amounts and dates you could agree forward contracts now with your bank to lock in the rates.
 
have done that, but good and all of a reputation the english have for paying on time it seldom happens and the rate is then lost!!
 
At those amounts, you should be able to get something better than the "over the counter" rate: try asking beforehand with your account manager. It seems to be one of those things with banks where if you don't ask, you won't get. This is based on experience of dealing with one of the big 3 banks and US$ amounts $10k to $50k or so.
