Hi,

On the BER rating it talks about insulating the floor of the house because it can lose up to 10% of heat

We are laying new floors soon, can we do anything to improve the insulation and improve the BER rating. The floors are concrete, pipes running underneath. HOuse built in 1994. All old floors and saddles are gone so we have a chance to do something now if it can be done

Not much you can do now without significantly raising the floor height. You really want the insulation under the slab.

thanks, was hoping that there was some slimline insulated underlay that could be used when putting down the new floors

All underlays will have some insulating quality, some better than others, but nothing that will provide any significantly impact to the point of altering the BER. The floor coverings you choose will have as significant an impact, carpet will be much better than tile/stone for example.

you could try 'aerogel' 10mm thick x 1m2 = 45/60€

though you haven't said what other work your doing

or what the budget is
