Hi
I was setting up a new deposit account in a bank recently and they said I needed to send in some tax forms to confirm the pps number of myself and my wife. So I sent in the tax credit forms we get each year from revenue.
I got a phone call yesterday from the Bank to say they posted the forms back to the wrong address with somebody elses name on the envelope.
They found out as the person who got my tax forms rang up the bank to ask what was going on.

So I'm thinking what to do about this. Should I complain to some data protection body?

You should simply expect an apology.

Banks process masses of transactions every days. Human error by someone like you or I will cause documents to occasionally go to the wrong place.

If you wish, you could ask that the bank official who made the mistake be fired, although I think that is going a bit too far.
