Was all set to sign final papers and get keys next monday but the bank are witholding the cheque due to a corresponace from my solicitor.
Basically the estate I am buying in has a sewage pumping station which is under the control of, the now in receivership, Chieftan construction. The county council will not take over the running until some issues with green areas and a couple of unfinished houses are resolved.
The bank are asking for some kind of assurance as to who is looking after this and will not release the money until this is given.
I have been talking to councillors, council engineers and am waiting on a call back from the receiver but the answer is the same it seems to be between parties.
Is there any way around this? The esate is over ten years old and there has never been any issues with this in the past.
