Bank has taken 15 months to put my house on market after I voluntary surrendered it.

We voluntary surrendered our home July 2012 by writing to our bank and handing them the keys. We tried and tried to contact them to find out delay but always got put through to call centre 'back up teams' who would just take a message with the promise of a call back. The house has now only just gone on market (October 2013). We had no arrears when we handed back the house but now have 15 months worth and they are marketing the house at a really reduced rate as market has since dropped. Has anyone else any advice or had something similar happen to them.

Welcome to AAM Rusty, but you've given us basically no detail. Does it actually matter to you if the house has dropped dramatically in value, does the sale price affect you? Have you been able to save what you would have paid in rent/mortgage in the last year? Is there anything preventing you leaving the house and making a new home?

With respect, if you have acted so irresponsibly, then you have no right to criticise anything the lender does.

You were not in arrears. Why did you not sell the property yourself?
