Average taxi fares?

I had ruled out taxi use recently as I thought the fares were too expensive. However, after getting a taxi from Donnybrook to Fairview which included a toll I was pleasantly surprised that it came in at €14. The journey took about 15 minutes.

Just wondering what other peoples' experience is at the moment with taxi fares. How much are people paying to get home from city centre at night etc. A local company near me is advertising 20% off all fares. Are prices coming down?

Insofar as I understand it, prices are fixed by the regulator but you can negotiate a different charge if the driver is willing to (not generally the case for short journeys). The 20% is a pretty sweet deal though have definitely used that company for repeat business as a result!!

Taxis are free to charge less.
