Auto Transmission on Toyota Yaris

have just rented a yaris while my car is being fixed at the mechanics and the transmission is automatic. however have never seen this particular type before...usually there is P for park, d for drive etc...but this one has E and an M + -...there's no instruction manual with the car..i figured out that the E must mean drive but don't know what the others are for...has anyone else seen this before? it's a 2005 model.

It's called Multimode M +- is for manually change gear up or down

and E is for automatic gearchange.
