Astec Alarm Issue

Hi,

Could anyone shed some light on this problem Im seeing with an Astec A49DV system.

Recently alarm is going off randomly for Zone 8 faults(zone 8 being the PIR in the living room of particular house in question. Have checked connections at PIR and panel and they seem ok, Replaced PIR with a new one but problem still remains.

Anyone seen issues like this before, possible software or panel hardware fault?

Alarm installed 3 years and no issues before

Hi mister mac,

Is the motion facing a window, over a radiator or in a drafty area ? if so you should remove the motion. I have noticed with the astec if you default the panel and reprogram it, it sometimes takes all faults out of it. Good system if installed correctly.

Another thing if that does not work is install a S51 with a dual tech motion. if the area is not suitable for the astec motion.
