Life Applying for mortgage protection - why do I have to declare my income?

Hi,

I am applying for mortgage protection cover and separate serious illness benefit.

On the form I am asked to give my occupation and my current salary.

Why do I have to declare this?

Can I leave the salary section blank?

Income/occupation details are part of a factfind. This will help the advisor to calculate the necessary amount of cover you require based on your earnings (among other factors).

You can leave this section blank if you wish.
