As one of those ditched by Danske in their recent decision to pull out of the domestic/ personal banking market, I'm now I'm the process of searching for a new Credit Card facility. I have no outstanding balance for transfer to a new CC provider and I would not be a regular user of the credit card - only occasionally for online purchases or bookings, so mostly low volume, low value transactions which I clear within credit period.
My other banking business is with AIB and I asked them about CC facilities and they forwarded me an application for an AIB 'be' Visa Card, which has been partially completed by the bank as they have most of my financial & personal details already.
In the section headed Direct Debit Option, the bank has entered "I wish 100% of my balance to be taken from my Bank Account by direct debit"
Now, my own preference would be to pay any balance to the bank personally when due rather that a Direct Debit arrangement. Is this an option or is the 100% DD transfer a condition of the card ?
My other query is as to the best/ most favourable card for me, being a low volume user with no balance to transfer and who pays off full balance when due - the different banks CC products seem much of a muchness for my situation ?
Any advice welcome !
