Anyone with experience of taking noise complaints to District Court ?

Hi,

Got a big problem with two nearby guard dogs barking at satellite dishes, paving stones, clouds, anything on a 24/7 basis. I've spoken to a resident at the property who wasn't the owner of the dogs a while back but the problem remains unfixed. I'm guessing that - since they are guard dogs - barking is the whole point so I'd be surprised if I get any change out of the actual owner when I follow this up.

So I'm interested to know if anyone else has gone down the District Court route for neighbourhood noise - was this straightforward/a pain; are one or more independent witnesses necessary, is it possible to make a joint complaint etc? But particularly, was the outcome positive ?

You need to complain to the local dog warden attached to you local council

Probably best try and sort the issue out with the owner prior to taking drastic measures like the courts. Also remind him/her of the court proceedings two weeks ago in Ireland where a Garda dog handler was awarded 15K damages for noise induced hearing loss from dogs barking.
