Anyone know a good blues/R&B cover band for weddings?

go to JJ smyths week nights and take your pick. There is a dedicated blues brothers cover band doing the rounds at weddings and functions, probably pricey but Ive seen them and theyre very good. shouldget their contact details off most promoter web sites or try weddingsonline

cheers car, any idea of the name of the band you mention?

jj's is a great venue but i'd be wary of saying "hey you guys are cool. fancy playing a wedding?"

Theyre just called the blues brothers, theres a few agencies that book them out, try ceb, but its always cheaper going straight to a band as its cuts out the middle man who puts a fee on.
If you definitely want a blues band dont let anyone stop you. But also dont be expecting the blues band to keep the dance floor full, blues bands are more suited for listening then dancing (IMHO).
Don Baker and Rob strong would be 2 names that jump out but theres loads of others, parchman farm, the business etc. The scene used to be a lot strong years ago but there seems to be a lack of good venues lately. If you go along to JJs on the [broken link removed](been a while but think its either tues or wed), ask someone for more advice. Dont be afraid to ask these guys to do your wedding for you, its not the most comfortable playing your heart out in a solo to auntie bridie who wants some abba, but its your wedding and a gig is a gig is a gig to these lads.
