Am I entitled to Jobseeker's Allowance?

I am working in a very low paid crap job, I am f/t living with partner and daughter, I'm trying to get new job, if I leave job am I entitled to any dole!? I am working a year in job but was not working for approximately 5 years before as was raising my son. Thanks in advance

If you leave your job you can be disqualified from receiving jobseekers for up to 9 weeks. You could apply for Family Income Supplement http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/275_Family-Income-Supplement.aspx

@cornflakes1: Better to move from Job1 to Job2 rather than Job1 to dole to Job2.

You're likely to be in a better position to get a job when already having one than being unemployed. You are likely to be asked by next potential employer why did you leave. It being 'crap' (and I don't doubt you that it is) may not be perceived positively.
