Hi I have a few queries concerning my eligibility for a CID.....

I have worked at a local Vec youthreach on a part time contract for the past 4 years. Recently I have been reviewed for a CID were I have been told that i have been covering parental leave for the past 4 years therefore I'm not entitled to a CID. During this review I was also informed that my contract may come to an end in December. Over the past seven months I am aware that no parental leave has been taken by any of the staff, yet my normal hours were still given to me. In fact earlier this year i was off on maternity leave and was covered by another person . I am the only teacher delivering the subject I teach.

Basically I would like some advise on whether or not i am entitled to a CID????

Are you in a Union?

If you are a Union member get advice immediately! If not s ask the Union Rep to give you some advice. You may have a good case for a CID so don't just take the VECs interpretation without question!
