Advice needed - Redundancy or lower paid job

Hi All,
I could do with a little advice. I work as an accountant and am being effectively given a choice of redundancy (my position will no longer exist) or a lower paid, possibly part-time job as a customer service person - am currently in finance dept.

My question is this - can I have both - the new position would be on the payroll of a UK Company (parent company to my existing employer). I had been considering asking for part-time so the hours and pay might be ok but don't want to miss out as I have considerable years of service.

Hope someone can advise on the legalities. Thanks in advance
 
I'd guess legally yes, but realistically no. If they are offering you one or the other they won't give you both.
